Marie Slark, Huronia Speakers Bureau

Marie Slark is known for work as a representative in the class action lawsuit brought against the government for the abuse and neglect persons diagnosed with intellectual disabilities experienced at Huronia Regional Centre.

Thought she likes to live a quiet life with her dog Buster, Marie has been in the public eye for her award winning work speaking up against injustice in institutional settings, having traveled across Ontario to assist fellow survivors in filling out settlement claims forms, and appearing in news articles and radio shows. Marie does exceptional work with her hands, including knitting, sewing, crocheting, and beadwork, especially rosaries.
